Default 2006 Recon choke question.

I just bought a 2006 Recon for my daughter and it runs like a champ when warmed up but when we first start the quad it will not idle on it's own even with the choke on. The quad is used but in very good shape and I have not cleaned the carb yet just so you know where I'm at. Is this fairly normal because I know there are cold natured but all my other atv's will at least idle with the choke on bt there self.

They are very cold natured, but should run with the choke on. I would take the carb. off and give it a good cleaning (remove the jets and clean). Also check to make sure that the choke is working. After it gets warmed up put the chock on and see if makes a differance.

Default 2006 Recon choke question.

Does the choke **** stay all the way out on its own?

Default 2006 Recon choke question.

I have a 2007 that I bought new and it is the same way, I need to give it a little throttle for the first 30-45 seconds with the choke out then it will run on its own and I can put the choke in after a couple minutes. I have heard many others say the same thing, so I think you're fine. Its a PITA but once warm they run like a champ.
