how much play should be between the primary stemless button and the spider? Also its seem as though one of the holes in the spider where the button sits looks worn outwards like i can move the button around pretty good but only on the one button the rest stay put not bad but spider still loose. i fear i need a new spider and some buttons may as well be a whole clutch 2003 scrambler 500

Look on the slide tower for grooves worn in from buttons. Not a good idea to change parts on these clutches but can be done. They are balanced as a unit.

theres a little wear on the towers and between the buttons and the tower theres a couple mm play but my concern is how the button would be contersunk into the spider one of the countersunk hole is warn out letting the button move around alot it happens to be on the x spider just on one side
