can bad reeds cause low cylinder compression?

Default can bad reeds cause low cylinder compression?

just want to know if bad reeds or crankcase leak can cause low cylinder compression? I have been told yes and then was told No need another opinion and why or how ?
I am only getting 35 psi when using kickstart this is on a 90 blaster yfs200
2 stroke

or are the rings bad, I did pull the head piston looks great cylinder wall smooth

Default can bad reeds cause low cylinder compression?

I would guess the reeds could cause low compression. The piston sucks the reeds open on the upward stroke(compression) after the piston passes by the intake port, so if the reeds are leaking until the piston gets past the port, it would cause it to not build as much compression. If you pulled the head, why not go ahead and pull the reeds?Usually if you can see light thru the gap, they need replacing.
