Anything I should know about buying from Bass Pro Shops?

LOL...Its cool. First, do they have a mechanics shop so they can do any service or warrenty work? If not, is there an artic cat dealer near you with a shop? Also look into what they can offer you as an incentive to buy from them as compared to a dealer. It is a buyers market right now, and the right dealer will stand on his head to sell you a new bike, and let you out the door with alot of goodies just to sweeten the deal. Basically do some home work and pirce compairson. Dont be afraid to tell them that your looking for the best deal u can get, also dont be afraid to walk away! As far as bass pro shop is concerned, they are a huge company with a good rep. How they rank as an atv dealer I dont know. But you might be able to turn up somthing good/bad with a general www search. Good Luck!!

I had the same question this last week. Unfortunately the sales person at bass pro shop could not answer basic questions although a very nice guy. And being new to quads we needed help. He gave no indication that a deal could be made beyond the posted price.
So I went home and did online research. I found a dealer in MN, that had 07 new floor models that they were clearancing for $1800 less then the 08 at bass pro shop. No dickering needed. I was searching for my husband as I had alreadly lined up a 05 used rancher for myself. But when I found out I could get a new 400 cat for about $500 more we decided to buy 2. Even though I like the Honda reputation, we are very mellow riders and I didn't want to purchase someone else's problem.
You do have to add about $400 per quad for shipping but with significant sticker savings and sales tax savings depending on your state it is worth it.
We just ordered our quads and havn't received them yet, but I'm sure it will work out find. I did a lot of research on the dealership and called cat corporate to verify they were an authorized dealer and the phone number matched.
Just do pleanty of research. Other then the price issue I'm sure Bass Pro Shops will be fine to purchase from. As mentioned above keep in mind they do not service the machines so find out who is in the area for service before purchasing a dealer extended warranty.
