The all wheel drive will not turn on my '97 sportsman. The switch it self seems to work but I can read any voltage at the switch and the LED does not turn on.

The problem started when I replaced the battery.

Do you have any suggestions?

 

You might check you gear selector switch in the shift box by pressing a little forward in drive or low range on shift lever and see if awd lights up. If internal switch becomes worn can cause no power to awd switch. This completes the circuit. Dont know if this is your problem or not since you said problem came up after you changed the battery? Also might check the bulb in the switch (small bulb inside at back)
