If there is anyone that can help me it would be great, i have a 99 sportsman 500, i bought it used and have had nothing but trouble with it. I noticede that it was jumping out of High range, and when it got in a bind, such as up a hill, or something it just would not shift out of low, i had to get off and push it back, after playing with it, it started to work, I tried to adjust the linkeage and it broke, being that it was sat, i took a 5/16 rod treaded it and made my own, seemed to work fine, today it done it again, i adjusted it again and it started to work again, i was wondering if this was a freak thing, and that it may be something else? other than the linkeage, it seems to get stuck in LOW range, and will not go into anything else, after awhile it will work, please if you can be any help, i need it, thanks

 

I dont have any issues with shifting on my 99... im not sure if its the same as my old 400L but there was somthing in the linkage that would wear out and cause it too slip.. maybe in this case it wouldnt release.. idk someone will see this post.. try messaging old polaris tech
