well im almost sold on the rancher but having last minute thoughts about the kodiak. Give me some good deciding points, also what is the average price difference.

I have ridden a couple of Ranchers. They had electric shift, which I did not like, but could probably get used to, but at this point, as you can see by my signature, I am sold on automatics.

I paid $5800 out the door for my Kodiak. The main differences I can tell you about are, the Kodiak has a larger displacement motor. The Kodiak has the ability to go in and out of four wheel drive. I owned a full time 4X4 once, I will never own another one.

I beleive you can get the Rancher with electric shift, or a foot shift autoclutch.

 

I to had the same 2 quads as my favorite choices before I bought the Rancher. It really came down to personal preferences for me to choose the Rancher. I'll tell you this, they are both great quads, and off-road the Rancher might even be better and is in my opinion. However on the trail the 2wd option would put the Kodiak for me on top. It just came down what I liked better and did more of. Since I'm not on the trails and not out for speed the Rancher was my choice. It might of been different though if we were talking more trail riding though. Good luck on your choice, they are both fun and better than each other in their enviornments.

I test rode both and liked everything about the Rancher better besides the 4wd/2wd ability. Now highlifter is making a 2wd/4wd system for the Honda's so I will have everything I wanted and i'm still only into it $5500. {assuming $400 for the "unlocker" kit}.
