Polais Sportsman RSE Starter upgrade = Bendix and Rotor grinding??
#1
The buy before me boke the pull rope. Instead of replaceing the housing and stuff, he just upgraded the starter to racing starer. Well, I am trying to put it back like it is supposed to be. I noticed that the teeth on my bendix are ground down. C
Could this be from the starter being too powerful? Could that happen?
Or could it be that the starter bushing is cracked?
Could the stronger starter have cracked the bushing?
You opinions and advice and expertise is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Which teeth are ground down, the ones on the starter side or the ones on the flywheel side? If it is the ones on the starter side, I would guess it could be because the starter teeth are not lining up perfect or the length or something is not right. If it is on the flywheel side, It could be from spinning to fast or slow maybe. Then again, it could just be from heavy usage. I am just guessing. What year, how many miles / hours?
