Default LT80 Crankcase Question

I have an LT80 with what I can only guess as to about 1.5 million hours on it. My son and all his friend put on average about 20 hours a week on it. It still runs extremly strong. My problem is this. yesterday I noticed some wobble in the machine while my son was jumping. After further inspection I noticed 4 bolts missing from the back on the clutch cover that bolts to the what is essentially the left case half. After further inspection i noticed that the opposite side of the case where the bolts are missing the case is completely cracked all the way around just ahead of the rear clutch. my question is this. Without spending a whole lot of $$$ for new case halves. Are the halves aluminum??? or Cast??? I am crossing my fingers for aluminum. If not. I don't think, but can Cast be welded?? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

It's aluminum. They usually can be welded unless the bolt holes are broke.
