Talking Warn Synthetic Rope For Winch PLEASE HELP Asap

I just got a warn synthetic rope kit at cabelas. It was listed for $90.00 and i got it for $17.00 in bargin cave which is returned items plus 50% off so i made out good. Well anyways is there anything special i need to know? I alreadyjust got a new fairlead with it so is there a special way to "treat" it or anything. Also came with rock or chafe guard. Any special way to wind it in? Lastly should i put a stainless thimble in the loop were hook goes so it dont rub through? Thanks, Polaris man with issues

First inspect your drum and check for any rough spots that could cause chafing and sand or file them down. Next slide your chafe guard on and slide all the to the hook end, then attach your new line in the same manner as the old. As you spool it up on the drum keep the line very tight and uniform as is goes on. (This helps the rope grab and grip the drum better, if that makes since) And lastly your line should have come with steel eyelet/thimble already in it. If not I would recommend doing so. When using your new line it is recommended to never let all of the line out, always leave a few wraps on the drum (3-5) to maintain holding strength. Another thing to look at but not necessary is a winch saver. It will help keep you from winding the hook up into the drum. About $10-$15 Hope all this made sence.

A good hardware store will have the eyelets. Great bargain!

Ditto! Also, the best thing about syn rope is if it does break you can just knot it off and it still works great.
