Ricochet skid plates
#1
Deer season is over, so I have some time to catch up around here. Last year, my 06 Sportsman 500 was hanging up a lot on tree stumps. So I got me a full coverage set of the Ricochet skid plates. Easy on. Only problem was the oil drain plug didn't quite line up so I had to hog it out a little with a drill bit. Ain't pretty, but it don't hurt the runnin' none. Anyway, this year, not one single hang up. It slid around like a cotton mouth, and I couldn't be happier for the way a product performed.

Ricochet does indeed make very good products, I don't have one for my sportsman, but my buddy has a swingarm skidplate on his 450R, and he's went through 2 DG's and they would bent like crazy, and he finally got a ricochet, and WOW is that thing thick and strong

One thing to keep in mind on metal skid plates. They can often get stones and small amounts of gravel caught up in them that can rattle like a tin can full of pennies. This is why composite materials, if well made, can be a great alternative. Much less chance of rattles, and very durable under normal use. But if you have a loud ATV and rattles are not a concern...go for it.
