Default 06 Kodiak 450 Hard shifting into gear

Anyone have any issues with Very hard shifting. Today I could not shift to reverse or park without reafing on shifter. Once it went to park, I had a hell of a time getting it back to nuetral or drive. Any ideas?

my yamaha 350s never had any trouble shifting into gear or reverse. try moving your boot on your shifter down, and squirting oil down in there. theres linkages that move, yours may be rusty. dont force your shifter, you'll bend shifting forks in the motor.

Hey Jason,

It sounds like the Linkage needs to be adjusted -- this topic has been answered quite a few times and here is my recent reply to it:

have you recently had any front end interaction with immovable objects?

I did this on my kodiak 400 and shortened the bike by a few inches. Because of this, the lingage needed to be shortanted becuase neutral was now forward, reverse was neutral and .... well... there was no reverse... very difficult to get it into any of those as well...

adjusting the linkage is a snap to do with an 8 and a 12 millimeter.

I did put newer tires on. They are alittle bigger.

I dont think the tire size would cause the problem you are describing.
