im new here but just picked up a cyclone 250x today
it wasnt running , gas was pouring out or the carb
so out in a new needle valve and stopped the gushing fuel
adjusted her in a bit and run it i had very littler low throttle responce but mid throttle she hammered then wide open it dogged back down
i think i may need a plug not sure though
also i didnt see any smoke outta the thing
where is the oil injection assy and te adjustment located? i looked at diagrams online and cant find a spot to richen it up
and if i just disconnect the oil injector what is the oil gas ratio to be used?
over all i am 220 lbs and this thing is fast for a 250
i passed my fatherin law on his 300 he was at a steady 40 and i whipped by him
also there is no tube of air filter hooked to the carb is there supposed to be a "u" shaped tube to the air pipe 6 inches above it? i think this may be some power isuues also as its sucking in hot air down there

Make sure the Engine compression is at least 110psi, The Polaris 400 is mixed at 40:1 when people run with not sure of the 250. Did you clean the carb real good when you had it off? Here a good how to on cleaning a carb.Disassembly and Cleaning of a Mikuni Round slide Carburetor

 

the carb was acid dipped prior to me getting it
it is spotless
i got her running pretty good today
the airbox was missing the guy i got it from sold it with a box of stuff for another quad
so i took a rubber radiator hose and a cone filter and installed it and took the hose clamp for the carb inlt and wired it solid to the frame so it didnt wobble
it is a lil bit bogey on wideopen throttle yet but not bad still need to fine tune it
right no its down due to the front tire being bad
it had 3 large plugs in it so i tried to dismount the tire and install a tube but the tire was dry rotted bad and is now shot
i called 4 local places for a tire no one has a 22x8x10 in stock and the cheapest i found was like 59 bucks
i found a pair on ebay for 75 with shipping
i just want a used tire for now until i get the thing working good and can be sure its going to work out
befor i dump any money into it


anyone have any tire around they would get rid of cheap?
