Default Need help '94 Timberwolf 250 2x4

I've lost all my hair....LOL Got a T-Wolf 250, cleaned carb, started good, ran good, new battery. Noticed a loose wire at the fuse holder and while taping that up I got a SPARK from unknown wire to frame.
Now it will only start when I hook up the charger on 35 amp fast charge. it will start nice and idle okay, revs up and no problems, pops after tapping throttle... Then I unhook the charger, it coughs, backfires and dies. starting with no charger it backfires in muffler or carb and will not start. WTF? Could I have fried the Sator? CDI? Regulator? I can't find any info on how to test these, I've got a manual but it does not have electrical test proceedures. Thanks for any info. Moose

you can find youtube videos how to test but it sounds like a stator problem to me possibly cdi, id make sure there are no hidden bare wires

Man an 35 amps charger!!!! IMO thats not an good ideal....I would start checking all electical components. The most common thing that happens when this happens is voltage reg. gets fried or the cdi..
