I had already posted in the regular Polaris forum but have not gotten anything so I thought I'd try the ask the expert section for the first time.
My trail boss runs great but all if sudden yesterday when I shift into reverse it dies and it also won'tstart in reverse so I have to push it out of ny garage when I go to ride and also it runs perfectly in every other gear but just simply dies in reverse someone said to push a yellow button on the left handlebars but there isn't one what button are they referring to? Anyone please give any help that they can

Remove the tank cover and the drivers side cover to expose the circuit board. Pull the black wire from the reverse limiter module (Just tuck under the headlight cover). Shouldn't die in reverse now and you will have full power without having to push the over ride button. Common thing for the reverse over ride module to short out either in reverse or at times in forward gear. OPT

Hi I posted awhile back . I bought an 88 Trailboss. 250 2x4. I replaced the seals and did a 20 over piston bore. Ebay piston kit. Real nice kit. First check I could feel suction at the carb so I knew it was going to run. Since then I have take it apart and cleaned and repainted the plastic and redid the seat. looks real nice now. All put together I started it today. Ran terrible for awhile. Got it going enough to ride it to the street and the further I went the better it ran.
Thanks for the help. If anyone needs a set of crank seals I have an extra set. 23 shipped. Post a pic soon.

Glad you replied back and have it running! Be sure to turn the fuel valve off on these old 250's after you kill it so gas can't by pass the carb and get into the crank case. Could have been loading up with fuel when you first cranked it up causing it to run crappy for awhile. OPT
