Default what is the flipping trick to these Polaris carbs

I have a 1993 250 Trail boss that I bought for my son.
The carb was dripping gas out the bottom of the bowl. So I took the carb apart and soaked it in parts cleaner for a few days, took all the jets, and cleaned them with a torch cleaner.

I bought an OEM needle valve, set the float lever to level with the carb upside down.

Now when I go to start it, it will only fire if I have the throttle all the way open, and gas is blowing out the intake, I took it apart again, and adjusted the float lever to just above level with the carb upside down. Still the same thing. I have the air screw set to 1 ½ turns out, and no idea what to do now.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Please don't have duplicate posts in the expert section and the normal thread area on the same problem! This can cause confusion. Hopefully may have given you some things to check out on your other post. OPT

Sorry I figured in both sections i would get opinions brom both the "experts" and Shade tree guys.

Just assuming the more in info the better.

I belong to some Snowmobile forums, and alot of times people dont look in both the general and expert section of the forums.

Im not implying you are wrong in your post ....... just explaining why i did what i did.

Thanks for letting me know the proper posting practices for this forum

On this forum someone will always be around to help in the general or expert section! ALL of us are "shade tree" guys especially when we sometimes have to guess what a persons problems are. Since we can't see or physically touch machines we just answer from each individuals own experiences. There are people here on the forum that can help on tires, clutching, suspensions, electrical, mechanical, etc for the do it your selfer that wants to save a few bucks. OPT
