2006 polaris outlaw 500

i have a 06 outlaw and when i start it up it idles fine but when i take off it sound like my pipe is pluged and i loose all my power???? does anyone know why that is

Could be as simple as trash/varnish in the carb stopping up jets or needle and seat sticking. I'd check this first since it idles good..
