Have you gone through the carb, checked the valves, are you sure you have the fuel pump lines hooked up correctly,is the air box installed?

I have went through the carb and checked the valves and the air box is installed I am at a loss I think it has something to do with the vacuum I dont want to give up on it yet. I also got it started ran it up the street and it ran great turned around and it just acted like it ran out of fuel then wouldnt start but everything seems good how does the vacuum work on these?

On and reserve lines go to the fuel valve, center line from the fuel valve goes to the fuel pump inlet at the top. The "P" is the vacuum outlet going from the carb to the carburetor. This creates the suction needed to pull fuel from the bottom outlet hose on the fuel pump to the carb. You can also just remove the fuel line from the carb and crank the engine over. Fuel should pulse from the line. Try it in the ON position and also Reserve position and see if there is any restriction on fuel flow. It's not unusual for fuel valves to stop up and need replacement also. Sometimes fuel flow can be stopped up or slowed on the on position, but flows good from the reserve position. Plus low compression can cause poor vacuum from the engine to the carb. Since it has an exhaust detent lever to keep the exhaust valves open a little while cranking, normal compression should be between 60 to 90 psi.Plus ethanol fuel is bad on fuel lines and can cause problem.

Age and ethanol fuel plays the devil with fuel lines. Glad you found the problem.. Keep a little fuel stabilizer in the tank.
