my 1991 polaris trail boss had a bran new top endn only used for a dasy and then didit work right after that it has .. it only has 94 pounds of compression?? and it flooding itself out pretty bad??

Carb clean and needle and seat replaced if needed? By "brand new" top end does this mean a fresh bore job and oversize piston and rings, piston to cylinder clearance no more than .0015 to.002 or did you just install new rings and gaskets? Plus the major thing that people forget are crank seals. Even if the top end is fresh and done right, leaking seals can keep it from running, can cause plugs to wet foul from lack of lower end compression that atomizes the gas/oil mix properly.

yea it bored 20 over i broke it in then went for a ride it was workig good then coming back the next day i had to hold the throttle to strat it and and on the trip back it like strarting breaking down had no power i had throttle full open bearly moving i could run faster but when u go down a hill it pick up speed intell u had to let off it then your back to briving slow again

Ok,try unplugging the reverse speed limiter black wire that's located under the headlight pod area and see if the limiter is causing the problem. If it solves this you'll have full power in reverse without having to push the over ride button. Plus on these older machines you need to have only 1/8" slack at the thumb throttle. Pull the big rubber boot back at the throttle housing and loosen the knurled lock nut and adjust the cable if needed to get 1/8" slack only on the lever.Item #33 is the limiter. They were bad about shorting out and limiting in forward range.Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Honda, Arctic Cat & Polaris OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse If this doesn't help you're back to either crank seals or rechecking the top end or could even be a clutch/belt problem. Just take it one step at a time.

Hard to start at times, idles erratic or dies, engine would run boggy and lean, fouling plugs from too much fuel and not enough air, lack of power, etc. This is some of the symptoms of leaking seals, plus a shorted out reverse limiter module could mimic some of the same things.Just pull the black wire first to eliminate it as a problem as it's the easiest thing to do!. If it runs the same way, move on to the carb, if you haven't rebuilt it as it could could cause the fouling along with crank seals, plus the 94 pounds compression reading doesn't sound too good for a new top end.Could be you may have seized a ring. You just have to start eliminating things one at a time..
