May or may not have anything to do with it,but the ecms on this model crated a lot of different problems. Even if they were replaced under recall. Huge ATV Recall by Polaris - Sportsman and Scrambler
Plus simple things such as checking valve clearance, having a clean air filter, pulling the fuel line from the carb and see that you have a steady pulse of fuel from the pump.Any of these could be the problem. Also look under the front panel to make sure you have the silver Sure Power module and not the black Chinese one. Replacement is free if the recall hasn't been done. Even so,the American made modules can short out like this one.

Vapor lock? They must have a tank vent of some kind, right? My old Harley vents through the gas caps.

To eliminate vapor lock, just run the ATV with gas cap off and see if it still does it.

It is a 2005 so look into the ECM, for sure.

Thank you everyone, but it still dose not run, trying a new carb this time, if that still won't fix it, it will sit in the garage until I can donate it to a charity.

A simple, cheap 5 buck pdf manual can help you rather than giving up and donating it! If you rebuilt the carb correctly a new carb won't help.2005 Polaris Sportsman 500 Service Manual PDF Download
