TRX250X vs...
#1
I just recently got a 1987 trx250x and was wondering if it has good reviews. I'm not worried about dependability because it was just rebuilt and seems to run good. But I raced our other blasters against it and they seemed to beat it by a little bit every time. I go to silver lake sand dunes a lot and am kind of worried it wont keep up with my banshee good enough because the blasters already seem to struggle a bit. Its more for my friends to ride but I'm considering trying to sell or trade it for a blaster or somthing bigger of equal value. Maybe it has more power and just not as much top end as a blaster... (that's what I'm hoping for anyway) any replies help thanks! Also does anybody have any idea what these normally sell for?
We traded for it with some totes that were only worth $400 so either way I'm happy with what I got out of the deal!

A Blaster is a 2 stroke while a 250x is a 4 stroke so the Baster should win.
2 strokes put out more power per cc that's why 450 4 stroke motocross bikes race against 250 2 strokes and 250 4strokes race against 125 2strokes.
4 strokes need a displacement advantage to keep up to a 2 stroke.
The Honda 250 motor has been around for years and is reliable. The current 250 Recon probably uses the same motor to this day.

Alright thanks ill probably ride it a few times and sell it to get something quicker maybe a blaster but I'm not really a huge fan of them. Any suggestions on what I could get for around the same price?

The 250x is a great machine, but as TLC mentions, 2 strokes put out more power per cc than 4 strokes. Neither the Blaster, nor the 250x will keep up with a Banshee, unless the person riding the Banshee is riding really slow.

I know they wont be able to keep right up with a banshee just looking for somthinh so a friend can tag along with something that's not too slow. But thanks for the info ill keep an eye out for some good deals
