hey guys got a question for you! i have a 1987 moto-4 350 that im trying to take the cylinder head off of. im pretty sure the head was never off of this bike and ive tried getting the 4 head bolts loose. i have one loose with no trouble at all. but the other 3 seem to turn maybe 1/16 or 1/8 of an inch then i cant turn them anymore. im afraid ill twist off the head bolts if i put too much force on it. what are some ways i can get the bolts out without breaking them? would an impact gun be better since it kind of jumps when you press the trigger? maybe shake the bolts loose instead of using a normal ratchet like i was using initally? any info will be appreciated guys thanks in advance!!

 

I wouldn't go for an impact gun, too powerful. An impact screwdriver perhaps. I sometimes give the bolt head a smack to loosen the threads. If the casting the bolt is threaded into is easy to get at, warming the area round the bottom end of the bolt often frees it off like magic, but you have to be careful not to set anything on fire.
