I just bought it and it needed a stator I bought one and I notice when I was putting it on he had clip the wires from the bike to the stator I'm looking at a solid white wire, a black wire, and a naked wire. And stator only has to wires a white one and a white and orange one

Not sure what color wires on the pick up coil on the efi,but on all the others they're white and white/red. Shouldn't be any "naked wiring" unless they were burnt. Best to have the service manual on this with the wiring schematic that can help on wire colors and routing. 5 buck manual should save you some head aches.2006 Polaris Sportsman 500 EFI Service Manual PDF Download

The stator on my 06 EFI is a 3phase and has three yellow "hot" leads and a brown neutral / ground lead.
