fuel injection kit
#2
My advice, if you have a carburettor fitted, keep it. I work on Quads, and the main difference is the injection ones are more difficult and expensive to work on. Almost all EFI systems on quads don't have an oxygen sensor in the exhaust, so are squirt the fuel in and hope it is the right fuel air ratio, just like carbs.

if you want fuel inj you would be better off to find something new at a atv salvage yard. Then you can strip off everything you need including wire harness. Pretty much all the newer ones are O2 sensor controlled.

Thanks for the info guys, I have since found that you can buy the kit in America for £600 or from china £388. Hmm, im in not sure what way to go, but maybe a new carb would be easier as its a direct replacement.

Which Quads have an Oxygen sensor? Honda 420 (old model) didn't, nor do Suzuki 400, 450, 500, 700, 750 King Quads. The EFI and CDI unit are integrated, so from breakers yards, the whole system is model specific anyway.

Only dirt machines that we carried or even came into the shop with a oxygen sensor was a Husky 510 that as soon as they were sold we installed block of kits for customers.

Yes newer ones do, but strange can't find one listed on the Polaris Sportsman 1000 exhaust, but does show one on the Rzr 1000 exhaust. Probably not looking close enough. Anyway glad I don't have to mess with em. Fuel injection problems were bad enough.
