NEED HELP - Honda 2002 Rancher 350 Manual
#1
Engine oil temperature sensor comes on after around 20 minutes of riding, engine is hot to the touch. Not sure what is wrong, but it took around 2 hours to cool down. Can anyone help me with this?

We maintain very few 2WD 350s, I wonder if they were not fitted with a fan. Honda did this with late 300s, fitting a fan to the 4WD version but not the 2WD. Anyway, there are lots of 350s being broken for spares now, the easiest way is to get a used fan assembly from a breaker, holes for the bracket will be already on the frame. You then need a wiring diagram to check how it wires in. The fan was wired through the CDI on the 350. Alternatively you could fit a switch on the bars and control it manually, Kawasaki did it that way on their KLF300. There are usually reasons for an engine getting hot, if you are letting it idle for too long or pulling a trailer at low speeds (harrowing will fetch the fan on in no time), but a weak fuel/air mixture, blocked oil cooler fins, or the wrong plug, can cause overheating too.
