Default starting to get this thing back together 96 400 scrambler

I picked up the freshly bored over cylinder and piston, going to pick up the crank and gaskets and bearings tomorrow. The guys at the machine shop did a good job on the bore, looks brand new now. I will defiantly go back there again. they are a small town auto parts supplier, whom I already have an account with, so i got a discount on the machining aswell. 30% discount is money saved only $90.00 taxes included. (Im in Canada so you USA guys probably pay allot less.) I also got payed for what i have finished so far on this bike. 4x4 works now. winch works. lights work. front shocks are out, although I had to bust out the oxy acetylene to get the spacer nut off the old strut. A pipe wrench and a 3' breaker bar was not up to the task. I think these struts have never been changed.

Good cross hatching marking on the cylinder but make sure any rough edges on the ports are relieved.Kinda looks like they are but take a small round file and work around the ports a little just to make sure a ring won't snag.

A set of Swiss Pattern mini files comes in handy for jobs where you don't want to remove much metal, but want to smooth it out. I don't know if there are any better tools for working on the ports, but they're what I have for fine metal work.
