I've had issues with my 97 Polaris 500 xplorer AWD system. right side engages but left side doesn't. instead of dropping $150 on a new coil and sleeve I found a used replacement strut for $60. That fixed my issue for about 5 months. now i'm having the same issue again. I tore down the hub system and found that my magnet does energize and pull the armature plate to the magnet but I can pry it off slightly easier than I can on the side that works. I'm tired of messing with this issue and since I use my machine almost exclusively for mudding I need my AWD system to be reliable. I just want to be positive i'm not missing anything before I drop the cash on the new magnet. anything I could be missing? could there be an electrical issue that is causing only the left side magnet to burn out?
