Default 2008 500 HO non-EFI over charging.

Do these not have a voltage regulator? I can find a voltage regulator for the EFI models but nothing on the non EFI.
Does anyone know what I am missing?
Is the voltage controlled in the CDI or do I need to replace the stater? Super confused.

2008 is the bastard year. everything is controlled by the PDM . Voltage reg, Fan relay... everything. I messed with mine for 2 years chasing problems from running issues to charging issues. I finally bit the bullet and bought a new PDM and all my problems went away. 2008 500HO carb.
They are not cheap but I got one from partzilla for $363 US .
