Anyone know how much would I expect to pay for a 2000 Xplorer 4x4 250? I think I may get one for my wife, any owner impressions out there?

Also, how much to have the dealer add EBS to this quad? How about to a Scrambler?

The nearest dealer is pretty far away so I wanted to get a ballpark number before I pay them a visit.

Thanks!

To the best of my knowledge, the 4x4 Xplorer comes in only 300 and 400cc.The Trail blazier and Trail boss is 2wd 250cc though.EBS is about 250 dollars with a trade in of your clutch.installed .Good Luck-----BILL

Bill, for '00 they dropped the Xplorer 300 (replaced by Magnum 325) but they did add a Xplorer 250. The Xplorer is priced pretty low already, and the dealers probaly aren't making as much profit on them as they are the more expensive models so they probaly won't/can't deal as much.

Different dealers seem to charge different prices for EBS including instalation, but around $400 is what I here. Or cheaper if you trade in the clutches (depending on dealer). Polaris only reccamends that you install EBS on machines with a low range, at least that's what they say in the dealer's service manual. I have heard that it's not worth it to add it to a machine without low range, like a Scrambler.

I looked into the 2000 4x4 250 for my wife, also. My dealer had one on the showroom floor, sticker was $4399. Figure I can get it for $4000. Nice looking machine. I sat on it, its very comfortable and not as small as I thought it would be. Pretty light, though.

For 10 Bucks you can get the dealer invoice price at www.cyclecost.com. I looked up the price on a 500 Magnum a few days ago.

There is approx. 800 to 1000 markup on polaris'....depending on model...most dealers i know will knock off 200 to 400 depending on there mood....they have to make a profit to stay in business you know...dont mind paying just to keep them in my area...

I am not sure about the copyright
or ethics questions about this:
It would sure be nice if Andy and
others would post the price from
the report.

When I Bought my Xpedition in June. The Dealer I bought from showed me the cost sheet. The list price for an Xpedition is $6199. Dealers price was $51xx. We settled for $5385. With Michigan tax, title, and dealer prep it was a little over $5800. If I'd been contemplating another model I would have noted the cost's. It definately pays to shop around. I've had another dealer that's left a few messages since. If he'd been willing to negotiate he would have had a sale.

Hey need_4_speed. If you are really in the need for speed than you shouldn't be wasting your time with a Polaris. Get a real machine!
