Default LT80 high idle

So I have recently rebuilt carb, replaced throttle cable and throttle. It is running at a he idle and in fact did so before I changed everything. I tried the mixture screw but doesn't help much even when turned out really far. I was wondering if I lower the clip on the throttle needle would that lower my idle?

I'd check to make sure the throttle cable is adjusted properly first. Then try lowering the needle. You might spray something around the carb to see if there is an air leak.

the fuel screw on an lt80 is actually an air screw so if you turn it out it is leaning the idle mixture. id try turning it in and adjust the idle accordingly. but id almost bet money on a cracked or leaking intake or throttle cable thats too tight

There is no air screw on a LT80 carb.
