Hi, I am new to building quads and I am looking to do my own work to rebuild my dad's 1989 lt500r. He bought it from a suzuki dealer sometime in the early 90s and had dune ridden it up u till 99 when he sucked some sand into the motor and blew the top end. He decided to rebuild it himself and had it all bored and ported with a new piston. When it was ready to be put back together he bought the wrong gasket and decided to improvise with some sort of liquid gasket. Long story short he was nailing it during a pull and it lost all compression. It has sat for 20ish years now and I want to be able to revive it so I just need some help knowing what to do. I plan on following MacDizzy for porting and such but I'm not sure if there is anything I should know. Also with it torn apart it looks like the ears are gone so that may be problematic too.
