Hi Bought a new Motor for my granddaughters chinese atv a TAO motor. Fit right in but when trying to start it ,it fires but seems to be to advance and fires before TDC and engine bangs. Can the spartk timing be adjusted, maybe change de cdi ?? I am stumped. any help would be appreciated . Oh yes same electrical harness and old motor did run but smoked badly.

Never heard of a GolfWing, however advance curves for CDIs do vary a bit, but as the Tao motor will probably be a copy of a Honda Cub engine, it will share the advance curve of all the other Honda clones. Try a CDI made for the Tao motor, but it is also possible someone at the engine factory has got the timing wrong, so if the correct CDI doesn't fix it, make sure piston really is at TDC when flywheel mark says it is and that cam mark matches too, at TDC on compression stroke.
