I noticed, today, that the LT80 I just bought is missing the exhaust drain plug. About half of the exhaust is escaping from the drain hole.
From what I understand about 2 stroke exhausts and the function of the expansion chamber, I would assume that there would be no reason for someone to want to leave the plug out on the exhaust but maybe I’m wrong for this particular quad.
so can anybody give me a reason why the plug would be left out intentionally? It seems to run better with it in there.

 

I run them w/o one with no problems.
The drain hole is on the outer side of the internal baffle.
If you think it runs better, then run it.
