I am ordering new chain and sprockets tommorow.I am going to order from rocky mountain atv.I am going to get sunstar front and rear sprockets but I am not sure on what type of chain. This will be on a 250r that is ridden only ridin on mx tracks and sand/chat.

I heard that sand eats the o-rings up ruining your chian so get a standard. But also I want to get the most hp to the ground with the o-ring chain.I am not to familar with the x-ring design.

Please have any answers by tommorow!

I'm not familiar with the X-ring chain either
if you want the lightest and most "powerful" (actually the least power robbing) chain, then get a no ring chain. But my guess is that it will wear MUCH faster than an Oring chain (and yes, I too have heard that sand eats the Orings). But it's lighter, probably cheaper. It needs more maintenance too(you can't miss a cleaning/lubing).

I have a 87R do not use a standard chain. The bike will kill it in just one day. Before you get the chain ask the person what the wearlife rating is what is the tensile in lbs.perfoot, are the bushings solid or curled.Try to get a tensile around 7500lb. to 8000 lb. wear life 500 to 600. If they do not know do not fool with it. O ring chains are good. The X rings are a bit better. The RK X ring chain with a JT front and rear should be about $105.00 for quads and $115.00 for bikes.
