clutch slippage? what else could it be?

the other day i put my 300ex up on a jack and started it. when i put it in first gear the wheels still moved with the clutch in. it did this through all the gears. is something wrong or what? it works when i am riding it

Mine does the same thing. I've even saw new 400's do it. Even with the clutch pulled and the plates apart there is no pressure on them so the engine still turns the transmission. Theres nothing wrong. Just keep about 1/4 to 3/8 inch of play in the lever.
