blaster oil leak
#1
I have a leak coming from were the water cooling pump would be. If your not sure what im talking about look at the clutch side cover. There are two places were the water cooling hoses go into the case. Its leaking from the base of the one that sticks out of the case. If any ideas it would be appreciated. I just bought a brand new case for it too because the old one was leaking from the same spot. Thanks Blake

If it is coming out the outside of the tube past the rubber plug, you have a crack in the cover.
If it is coming out of the pump area, the plugs there may be bad. There are 2 plugs, the larger one blocks where the pump shaft would normally be, the smaller one blocks where a pin would go to support the pump gears.
If you want to know how I know alot about the pump, check out my site, you may be pleasantly surprised.

Alright, its a new case i dont know why it would have a crack but if it does is there anything i can use to fix it instead of getting another new case? And the plugs are good.

OK, here's what I would do:
1. drain the oil
2. remove clutch cover
3. thoroughly spray with 3M brake cleaner(that stuff is strong!!)
4. carefully inspect for the crack/cracks
5. if any are found, get some JB Weld for aluminum or #M structural adhesive
6. carefully apply to the cracked area, but not too much, just enough to fix.
7. let it cure for a long time(1-2 days)
8. re-install with a new gasket, fill with oil, and check for leaks, if any are found, repaet the steps above.
I know it sounds like alot to do, in actuality, its just alot to type.
