I am buying the 2002 grizzly and i have the option of buying the warn winch or plow, the winch is the 2000 series, i want the 2500 so i decided on the plow, anyone have this is it a piece or garbage or good.

I am waiting for my Silver Grizz to arrive. I went with the winch deal. The only difference between the 2000 lb. and 2500 is the wiring harness and external relay, not the winch itself. I figured I would get more use from the winch and buy the upgrade kit to make it a 2500. Eventually I will look at plows and then I will already have the winch to lift it. I don't know where your at but here in Mid-Michigan we really haven't been getting alot of snow.

jeff i agree with the winch, but it is cheaper to get the plow with the quad and buy the 2500 series aftermarket. Do research i found the winch for as low as $340.00. That's why i am going for the plow. the 2000 and the hop up kit is expensive, the hope up kit alone is about$170 also read my post on the silver griz problem

It is my understanding that the first few proto-types were Silver on black. The final released ones that most are receiving are suppose to be Silver on gray plastic. Still painted. I have seen several pictures and you can see inside the fenders which look gray not black. If we could get some feedback from 02' Silver Grizz owners I would really appreciate it. I'm getting close to my long wait on delivery. My plan for the snow is a 42" snow blower mounted to the front of my Grizz. If all works out well I will post pictures. showar94 thanks for the tip on looking into the Silver problem.

I got the plow. It is a nice unit but the lift mechanism is a killer. Works like a parking brake. Very hard to lift. I dont suggest using a winch for a lift. A friend of mine did and he just about tore his quad in half. seemed the relay stuck and the winch kept winching after the plow came all the way up and kept right on going before he realized what happened he had a badly twisted frame. Bad deal!!!!. Thank God his insurance covered it. The insurance company was not real impressed. Warn makes a real nice snow plow lift. It mounts on the plow, when the plow comes of so does the winch. The winch they use is little more than a souped up wiper motor but works real nice. The controller mounts on the handelbar and looks great. when you remove the plow you just disconnect the plug and away you go. I have buried my plow into some really heavy snow and hit the button and it raises the rear wheels right off the ground. This was on my 2000 grizzly, and will be on my 2002. Best of all the whole kit only set me back $160.00 dollars. Well worth every penny.
