Tie rod ends, Farmr123?
#1
Farmer, read your tie rod fix from 4 Oct, have a couple of questions. Which bolts did you use, did you need to shim the steering arm between the new tie rod end? I just bought a '99 Sportsman and it has the old style tie rod ends that are worn out. It would be nice if you posted a short description of the process to retrofit using the commercial tie rod ends you purchased. Your comments would be greatly appreciated.

I added to the post titled 'tie rod ends'. I figured it would be easiest that way as I had the part #s listed there already.
I am so far very satisfied with the way they are working.
The instructions should pertain to any heim-style end, too.
Bolt size is 3/8 diameter, grade 5, but I didn't note the length I used, just got them out of the bolt bin on the farm here.

Brake pads
Rocky Mountain - 1800-336-5437 - $19.99 + shipping
Chaparral - 1-800-841-2960 Must call for price.
I was told by Steve that the 2001s had a compound change for the material in the pad and it may be wise to use 2001 pads.
