Whoops, blew a drive clutch on my 2000 500 SP, and they want 400 buck US for a new one. Anyone buy a roller clutch, or other companies clutch for theirs? Need one quick, lack of snow means more winter riding. Thanks!!!!!

SWAC,
Ever heard of requesting that Polaris buy you that clutch?I had Polaris replace my clutches on BOTH my 99 Sportsman and my 00 Xplorer with over 1500 miles on both AVTs and out of warrenty. The dealership can get this done for you if they really want to.

Polaris has some problems with their clutching and they know it.Polaris covered the cost of the new clutchs on BOTH my ATVs.I paid 65 bucks for installion though.

You aint bitchin enough bro!

Bill

Heres the story, engine idling, pushed gear selector into forward, or high, quad lurched forward, stalled. Pulled belt cover, found drive clutch sheaves stuck together (high speed). Pulled off inspection cover, found one weight had jammed tight, and clutch assembly warped and falling apart. I will contact dealer, problem is that I had changed weights and spring, so I would love to bitch and complain, but I had modified it with AAEN clutch parts, so I will probably have to buy another. I mentioned the roller clutch only because I had read about it a year ago. I know this is not my fault, they should replace it. Will continue on the moanin' and beachin' part though, thanks bud.
