I don't know about a shee or piped ex but I do know
that mine will hang with my brothers trail modified
99 scrambler. I don't know YET how far I can stay
with him because the engine is not broke in yet. In
a 100 yard drag race it COULD go either way. My times
are very close to his. I know at some point his top end
will just leave mine. I don't have an area where I came
explore top end so thats not an issue yet.
You will have to run 110 octane gas. Some people will
think the price for the kit and that you have to run
race gas is a good reason to just buy a scram but if
your looking to have some fun with a true SLEEPER that
will surprize alot of people its worth it. Too me anyway!!!!!!!!!

what i dont get about the reed conversion kit, is , if the scrambler has Reeds already, how can a trailblzer 250 , with reeds added, be faster? it makes no sense to me

I don't know either. I think that putting the reed kit in
this gives it about 18-19 more hp. Thats almost double what
it had. It being lighter stock vs stock to a scram. I think
that gives it a better power to weight ratio. Up to a point
anyway and then the scrams bigger cc's come into play and
SEE YA! Anyway I'm still impressed because my stock 00 TB
runs a 100 in the high 7's and the reed does it in the low 6's.

Thats awsome how much did you pay for all that? They quoted me $ 970 but I already have the pipe and clutch. I am just looking for that instand GO power tired of the slow take off. Did this do that for you. Let you know how it turnes out thanks for the info

I paid about $1,100.00 dollars for mine. I had the pipe
but had a Hotseat clutch kit at first. After talking to
Darrell, he didn't know if Hotseats clutch would run in
the rpm range that his kit could generate. So I went ahead
and got his clutch kit too. It is different than the one
you probably have in yours now. It has a special cut helix
different springs and weights thats alittle different than
HPD's standard TB clutch kit. I would talk to Darrell just
to make sure your clutch is okay.
YEP, there is alot more instant GO now. Night and day difference
over your pipe and clutch kit. Jump on a piped scram, thats
about what it feels like. If you get one, please keep in touch
so we can compare. My brother is alittle afraid that I'll beat
his scram so he keeps adding more mods to his to keep a comfortable
lead on me. I'll have alot of testing to do this summer so I'll
let you all know how it does!!!

I have there Raceporting on mine an can say it helps alot. Mine right now will get my buddies 2002 scramblerX400 off the line an hold him till top end. Im running 20" tire on it right now. Im not sure if I will get the reeds right now cause the power on both setups come in a little differnt. I can say that both kit work well you can get the raceporting done for less the later have the reeds add if need to save money

Hey x_scrambler3,
Congrats on your winning race season. Are you going
to do any more this year and what else do you plan on doing to
your quad? What kind of suspension are you running up front?
I've got the Fox shock on the rear but the front is still stock.
What would you recommend? THANX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will be racing this year it useally starts around late April. Im running the stock shocks up fron t on mine with the med streigth springs. They really good for stock shocks. I have not changed mine to Fox cause I will have to either buy new housings or have the board out cause the fox are made for the scramblers with have a bigger diameter hole the my TB. I am thinking of getting the 35 flat slide from HPD but as far as anything else nothing. It is pretty much done as far as mods go right now.
