Why not have a manual 5 speed, but when you go into reverse it changes to auto, so you dont have to worry about stalling because of the rev limiter? TELL ME THIS IS A GOOD IDEA.

I'm not sure if I understand what you're talking about, but I think I can do you one better.
It is possible to have a manual shift quad that won't stall when you come to a stop.
You can do this by having the primary clutch in place, as it is on any auto-clutch quad, and having the secondary clutch controled by a hand lever instead of the shift lever.
The only real disadvantage of this over a fully manual clutch is the extra weight on the crankshaft.
The advantages are easier shifting, and the ability to slip the clutch to keep the revs up when you need to. Plus, when you're stuck you wouldn't need two hands on the bars, but you'd be able to walk you quad out like with any other 4x4.

1-2-3-4-5 gears are manual clutch. But when you go into reverse, you dont need to use the clutch. when you go back to the primary forward gears, it returns to manual clutch.
