Just bought a 650 and wanted to buy an extra belt. After owning a Polaris you learn it's good to have extra. Anyway the dealer wanted $500.00. That's right FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS FOR A BELT. Are they just messing with me or is this an accurate price. Does any other company make a belt the the 650?

They must have been hit in the head by a speeding ATV.

My dealer said $70, but I think you can get em for less.

Also, they are not that hard to put on, if you are a little mechanically inclined.

Ruvy, you may have to explain to your dealer that the Prarie is a ATV not a snowmobile 'cause it sound like you were quoted on a snowmobile belt. Or like nyroc said, he was hit in the head by an ATV. Either way the price is way off...

RUVY:
If you are from Washington state then you might be close to the Canadian border. If you are then you might be able to good to the great white north and get a belt for $35 American bucks. That's what I bought my spare belt for across the border in Woodstock New Brunswick

Expect to pay between $50.00 and $75.00. look in the 2002 Denis Kirk catalog they have some new kevlar belts for cheaper, Don't know about your application. I've never had to change a belt before 3500miles on any of my automatic machines. 1995 Magnum 425, 1998 Scrabler 500, 2002 Grizzly 660.

500 dollars for a belt? damn I would hate to see how much they charge for a quad.
The belts I have bought for my snomobile are around 50.00

I got two quotes for $ 130.00 in Canadian peso. My machine has only 950 km on it and was told the belt is getting close to needing replaced. This machine is getting very expensive to keep operating. The Polaris 700 twin has a lifetime warranty on their belts, come on Kawi get with the program.

There's no reason that you should have to shange your Kawi belt so often. I've never blown a belt that early. Maybe shim the clutch boycott the company, inform them that there design stinks. Belt sure can get expensive. I don't think that Kawasakis are junk, just feel that this is a poor design.
