Find "Jack"...(Trader Jack)....he supposedly has forgotten more about quads than anyone will ever know....just ask him. (PS: he's hanging out on the Polaris threads)

You use grease, but it is of a "special" type with "special" ingedients supposedly. [Yamaha's words, not mine] I don't know what is different about it, I have never read the label.

It's called "Grizzly Grease" and is available in tube form from your Yamaha dealer.

Yamaha also recommends this grease for the Kodiak, but still call it "Grizzly Grease"...LOL

thanks guys!!!
hey knowsalot, if you are supposed to use grease, then i take it it is o.k. to use lithium grease on the 6 bushings,(bearings) in the clutch? the clutch had grease in it, and the dealer says it didn't? i know it did, i cleaned it all out, lol. i have snorkled my intake and exhaust on the belt drive, so i wont do this again. i just dont want to hurt it at all, and it is going to take 2 weeks for the manual to arrive. i am going offroading tomarrow, and want it to be right. thanks again!

mich, It does and should have grease on those bearings.

Either your dealer was thinking of something else or he is completely whack.

LOL...Ask him what he does with the Grizzly Grease sitting on the shelf if the clutch bearing isn't supposed to have grease.

thanks knowsalot!!!
there are some people on here that we can rely on, and you sure are one of them!!! i think the dealer just lost my business in the future. he( the machanic) actually told me that there was no way i had grease on the clutch bearings, and that the shafts were dry too. how a sleeve and shaft should be dry, i'll never know. now i have to stop my brother who checked his and is cleaning all the grease out of it, lol. he also has a new grizzly!
thanks again buddy!
