Just recieved RCR stage 1 kit for 400 2stroke.
Are there any suggestions or anything special I should know for, jetting the carb and changing the clutch spring and weights.

New to the atv's and enjoying so far.

I have to assume you are speaking of a sport or scrambler. On the bottom of the carb you will see a large nut(7/8th?). take this of and you will see a 6mm brass colored jet. Simply unscrew and install the appropriate jet.(start out rich so as to not burn up the piston)Did you get the whole clutch kit or just a spring? If you got wieghts that is as simple as what it looks, Just unsrew, replace, and reinstall the screws. For the spring I had to loosen the center bolt on the driven clutch and then loosen the 6 surrounding bolts and simply replace springs. If you only got a stiffer spring I must warn you that you will consume belts and possibly damage your clutch surfaces. AS for the airbox mod, it is somewhat a pain but simple.Just center the the third boot and cut a hole and pop it in. You might also have to cut the rubber boot on the top of the ai intake tube to push the aluminium piece. The exhaust is to simple to explain. Hold on tight!

The RCR Stage 1 is for a 2 stroke bike. RCR

Just curious there, BB...what pipe did you go for? According to the website, the purchaser gets his choice of pipe and silencer.

Dave B

I went with the top end pipe, and it runs really well!!!!
The top end pipe with the red clutch spring, and a 280 carb jet is a little to much for trail riding. But if you want quick speed, last night it hung with and beat a 400EX that had been piped, jetted and lowered.

I'm real happy for a 340lb guy riding a 500lb+ machine.

BIGGIN

Just followed advice from rick(RCR) and you on the jetting. Put it back together and it ran great with no adjustments. All I need now is a rear-view mirror (just kidding)
Runs great and I'm real happy.
