if you had to pick between these two quads which one would you pick? also why would you pick that quad?

I've always been a big fan of the 400ex, almost got one, then came the Raptor. Since I've owned 3 Warriors in the past I thought the Raptor was the best thing out, then came the Prairie 650, got one, now the z400 has me flirting with a trade in idea, but just can't let the P-650 go, to much fun. Thinking of getting a z400 to go with the P-650, but I'm laid off right now so it's on the back burner on low now. Now on to your question, I would get the green one to keep my 650 from fighting with a stranger out in the garage. The 400ex is outdated,while the z400 isn't on the cutting edge either it's a lot closer to what I would expect in this day and age ( air cooled engine, what's that ? )LOL. Good price for it also.

Trail Hog, what did or did you not like about your Raptor? I would love to add one to the stable. Problem is that I weigh about 300 pounds and 6'2" tall. I am not sure if a 400 Z or EX would be powerful enough, but I guess since they are so light maybe they would.

I have not riden at Livingston yet. We are from Campbellsville in Central Ky and since we moved to Lexington, we had to go find places.
So far, we have ridden at BigRock (www.bigrockatvpark.com) and mountain parkway offroad (www.mpoffroad.com). Memorial Day we went to Windrock near Oak Ridge TN (that place is huge).

I was told to only go to livingston with someone who knows their way around. I have heard bad things about it. Do you like it?

Yes i love it there what did you think of mpoffroad? i have never been but plan on it. You can ride with just about anyone down there just go and ask some where the stair steps are or something and most of the people will ride there with you.

 

jlpier01, I never owned a Raptor, but almost got one instead of the P-650 at the time. I've had 3 Warriors, all new ('88, 95', 98'). Even though the Warrior isn't as powerful as the z400 it has been one of my favorites. I think the Warrior has about 22-24 HP and I'm 270 6'1 and I never had a power problem with the Warrior, so with all of that said, the z400 has about 33HP so I think it would be great.

I own 01 Raptor. I LOVE IT VERY MUCH but I love my baby girl (jodie) more! [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] I have a buddy that owns 400ex and he loves it and he has no problems but he is always wishing for more speed to keep up with me but it has been very good quad. It handles very nice. A little better than the Raptor but not in the POWER part. It's pretty underpowered. As for Z400, I keep hearing that Z400 barely beats the 400ex by one quad lenght in 120 yards drag for me it's about 4 or 5 quads ahead than 400ex with my buddy (stock vs Stock) I would choose the KXF because it looks better! [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] but keep in mind Z400 will have some bugs and the 400ex has been out of years and people have alot of knowledge about them. But hey it's still no RAPTOR!! WHOO! [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]
If I was you I would choose the KXF400. Hope this helps
