I have a gas leak on my mojave comming out of the carberator at the very bottom hose. I think its the overflow hose. It also seems that my carberator is getting flooded. Any suggestions?

 

well it sounds like you need to clean the carb.and get a inline gas filter.

 

I pulled the carb out last night and it look emaculant. I was very suprised to see it so clean.Does anyone know if that is indeed the overflow or something else. I have a tub on the side of the carb.

 

You may need a new needle and seat kit. They are pretty cheap. You float is probably sticking. Spray the crap out of it with carb and choke cleaner. Also, before you go buy the needle and seat kit, try adjusting the float level. What year is the mojave?

Is it a newer Mojave or an older one? Mine did the same thing at 2 weeks old and it was debri from the tank causing the float to stick. Bottom line your float is either sticking or something. I think that is the only thing that will let gas run out of that hose other than the screw on the bottom of the carb being lose. Either way put a fuel filter on it too after you fix it. It just makes sense to filter the fuel before sending it through your carb. Hope you figure it out soon.

 

check to c that your floats are not filled with gas on some older ones the plastic starts to leak

 

Mine did the exact same thing and I changed the float valve and it still kept doing it. It ended up being the little o-ring on the drain screw where that hose comes out.

 

Thanks guys ! I pulled the gas line out and emptied the tank last night, then cleaned it good. As well as adjusted a few screws and its working good.Of course now im buying a Yamaha Warrior for a second atv. The Mojave is a 93 and its getting old lol.

 

you might need new gas lines because the same thing happened to me and i found out there was a little cut inthe line

 

i had that problem one time and it ended up being the carberatour had to be cleaned out. its abotu a one hour job. so whatever thought i would just tell ya. Best off bringing it to your Local dealer to mess around with it.
