No improvement after rejetting
#1
I have rejetted my quad several weeks ago. I ran it against some quads I have always raced in the past. It ran fine thru out the full trottle race ( no boggy, flat spots ect. ) except I did not pick up any speed. Today I played with the fuel mixture screw and saw slight improvement running it in my yard. I will be getting my Carbtune II kit to synchronize the carbs this week. I have 132 front and 136 rear jets from Dynojet. From reading posts I see my jets size is higher then most everyone else. What else can I do to get more speed. Higher jets? Lower jets? Any help greatly appreciated.

I lowered my jets today from 132f/136r to 130f/134r. I kept the needle on 4th notch. It seems much quicker. Next weekend I will run it againts some old foes. Air screw out 3 1/2 turns. I also replaced those terrible screws that everyone strips out with new ones with ellen heads. Should make the job much easier if I ever have to re-jet again. I believed I could have re-jetted without removing anything if it was'nt for those soft brass screws which keep on stripping on me.

Haynes,
I also noticed a slight improvement with the 130f and 134r over my current 132f, 136r (4th notch, 3 turns out). The problem I had with the smaller jets was that my spark plugs were not changing colour. I had to go to the 132f and 136r before I got a nice light brown colour. Have you put new plugs in, and checked them since you lowered the jets?
