Need more details.

Is it the screw heat that is stripped out, so the screwdriver won't grab it?
Are the threads themselves stripped out?

Is is a 'through' bolt, with a nut on the other end that you could cut off, or does it screw into a housing?

Is it threaded into steel or Aluminum?

What kind of head does it have?

Can you grab it with vise-grips?

If you reply back with more details I can give better help.

If it is the head which is stripped, I've had good luck with a chisel and a hammer. Beat the chisel into the screw and turn.

boat is stripped?

I have never stripped a boat, that goes to the paint department at the facility.

Well, I had the top of a screw that is all stripped. This is the screw that goes on to the plate on top of the carburator. I cannot unscrew it, the scredriver has no more grip.

and for the boat, i have one of the boat on the side of the 400ex stripped, this is the boat that holds the cap of the oil filter.

i dont know what else i can say. they are very hard to unscrew.

My husband and I recently had a stripped screw on my bike while replacing the handle bars. The original head of the screw called for a phillips screw driver but it got stripped really bad. So with a hammer we used a thin flat head screw driver and hammerd it in a bit. It wedged the screw driver in and got it stuck enough to give it enough grip to turn. My husband, being the strong guy he is, applied some pressure in while turning and whala.

Just a little input. Hope it was of some help.

Craftsman makes a screw remover kit for around $25
I've used it several times & it works well.
Anytime anyone removes any carb screws I recomend replacing them with stainless allen head screws!! end of problem.
