I was looking at EPI's website, and noticed they have a clutch kit for an 03 V-force 700 2x4 quad. Is that the new kawi 700 sport bike? How did they already get one and make a clutch kit for it?

I beleive the clutch is the same as the one on the 650 so the regular hop up springs will also fit. I think they are repackaging the same unit hopfully not for more money. Have fun.

I went to EPI site and the part numbers are different for the 650 and 700. Must be something in there different. Funny how EPI has already got ahold of a 700 V to check out and offer a clutch kit for it. Wonder how they managed that??

Maybe they just know that the belt is the same as the garbage belt that the P650 has!!!!!!! MJSTX

Actually found out today the clutch system is Identicle, the engagement springs for the 700 are different witch allow for higher rpm pickup and grab the belt harder as opposed to the 650. This is from EPI, they must have had input on the system or a race modifier like Penlands team for eg. don't now for sure they wouldn't tell me. So pretty much the same unit just up dated. Have fun. I wonder if Kawi reads all these posts, are snickering to themselves and are taking all the benefits we do. Makes you wonder doesn't it. Have fun.

KISSOFDEATH: I have a '02 P650 with 3000miles on the odometer. It has been a very reliable machine (no breakdowns) and a joy to ride but the belt issue is an area that Kawasaki must address before I would buy another one. What really bothers me is the complete denial by Kawasaki that this is an issue that they must address. Just my thoughts .......MJSTX

mjstx, thats cool then. I was going to say STFU LOL if you didnt one. But since you do, you have every right to bitch about it. Actually I had to take a spacer out at 70 miles on the one we have. I noticed on take off the belt was chirping when I checked it, it was 31mm. Atleast its pretty easy to get to unlike my Kodiak is.
