Default Sportsman 600 VS Xplorer 400

I am seriously considering exchanging my 99 Xplorer 400 for the new Sportsman 600. Not that there is anything wrong with her but I just feel that Polaris has finally done something that is worth changing for and I've got the itch for something new. Has anyone got any feedback on this new machine? How smooth is the engine at idle and is it quiet? Advantages or disadvantages? How does it feel riding 130lbs more. Will I miss that snappy feel of the 2-stroke? Thanks in advance for helping me make my choice.

Default Sportsman 600 VS Xplorer 400

Hey, Snowride, long time, no see!

Well, from my very limited experince, the 600 will outperform a stock Xplorer, and probably even one with a clutch kit. One with a good porting job, no.
Engine is very smooth, nice even power spread from idle up to top speed, and ride is like any other Sportsman.

I didn't have a chance to drive one doing any serious off-roading, but I would bet you would have to feel the extra weight. Steering didn't seem enough heavier than on my Xplorer to worry about.

That's about all I can tell you right now.
